(Anyone not wanting to do the full route can carry straight on here to head into Ringwood).\nFrom this turn we’ll cross over the A31 via the bridge at Poulner and head a further 3 miles to our destination.\nOur return will be the reverse of the outbound route\, although anyone with enough energy (or cake fuel) can always take a diversion up Crow Hill. Any takers? We’ll see!\n\nCa. 90 minutes each way\, assuming no punctures or mechanicals.

DESCRIPTION:Release the pigs!  \nOne sure sign of autumn is pigs out on the open Forest\, and it won’t be long before we start seeing them again. 14 September is the official start of pannage season\, which is when commoners practise their right of mast by turning pigs out each autumn for around six weeks. The ferry has 20 ‘socially distanced’ cycle places and at around 11.30am. they don’t anticipate a lack of spaces for us. Masks must be worn\, but snorkels are optional! With 13\, maybe more\, travelling we’re into multiple ‘sgrs’ to stay within the guidelines. Cloudy but DRY and sunny intervals… no rain expected all day (some hopes!).  The wind should not be a problem for Debs and Alex\, but won’t assist either. \n\n\n\n2. Assume all cyclists\, wet & dry\, leave the Castle at 10.00. It would be useful for the boarders to be on the water by 11.00 to get ahead of the kayakers. \n\n\n\n3. Leaders:- Pete Morgan for the dry-ones\, I have the wet-ones to Mudeford and Pete Cailes leads on the water. Two groups to remain apart when cycling for Covid ‘distancing’. \n\n\n\nGroups: Dry-ones are …. Pete Morgan\, Tim Alston\, Dave Steer\, Barry Chapman\, Phil. Hiscock\, Sue Forward and/or Julie Oliver.   If 7\, ‘backup’ to maintain distance from group (PM to ‘manage’!) \n\n\n\nWet-ones are …. Mel Pike\, Richard Allam\, Pete Cailes\, Malcolm Robertson\, Louise Abrahams\, Colin Pelton.  Paddleboarders – Debi and Alex (Richi assisting and official photographer) \n\n\n\nNote 1  PM will lead the dry-ones away from Mudeford on a 10-mile route\, aiming to arrive at Tuckton around 12md. \n\n\n\nApprox. Timescale: \n\n\n\n10.15 2 sgrs (2 x 6 riders) arrive at Mudeford. Wet-ones park/secure bikes\, helmets and belongings with Shoresports and get kitted out for kayaking. Anyone who has not paid their £35….now’s your chance!   The dry-ones can  take pics. shout abuse and generally misbehave….as usual! You can’t get decent ‘support-staff’ these days! \n\n\n\n10.30 Debi and Alex off and rocketing across the harbour by now! (possibly?) \n\n\n\n11.15 Wet-ones hit the tide\, like ducks to yoghurt!  ‘Cockleshell Heroes’ ride again! (?) \n\n\n\n12.30-ish All arrive at Tuckton Bridge slipway or Wick Beach. The ‘dry-ones’ will probably arrive first\, secure bikes\, grab tables & etc. then assist ‘wet-ones’ getting kayaks & boards up to the cafe. \n\n\n\nNote 2  There is a small\,but useful beach opposite Wick Ferry/Captains Hotel – about 300yds. downstream from Tuckton Bridge – which could be useful if arms are tired. Pete M. will keep an eye on this (maybe send backup with radio down on bike to report need for help Pete?). \n\n\n\n14.30-ish Aim to leave about this time to get wet-ones back for around 16.00 \n\n\n\nNote 3  Paddleboarders to decide how and when to go home\, car or paddle! \n\n\n\nNote 4  The staff of Bournemouth Boating Services/Tuckton Tearooms (same company) know us well from BBQ Cruises and Christmas ‘Ticket-to-Ride’ nonsense…but have still offered all their water and hospitality services to the Club! DESCRIPTION:UPDATE 17/08: \nA BIG thank you to the 14 members who came back so quickly! The consensus is that the Summer Event becomes the ‘Late Summer Event’\, postponed to Wednesday 2nd. September due to increlemen…inclemen…….c**p weather! Mel will drop down to Mudeford tomorrow and see if he can rescue the deposit\, if not\, well que sera\, sera! Mel will report back tomorrow. Apologies to those who preferred Thursday\, but you were in a small minority.  If our luck continues\, our Christmas Lunch will be on Feb. 14th!\n\nUPDATE 15/08:\n\nFYI\, Mel will circulate our ‘plan-of-action’ tomorrow (16th)\, with times\, places and notes for ‘wet-ones’\, ‘dry-ones’ and ‘others’!  He will keep everyone updated with weather info. up to Tuesday night\, and report any changes to plan.\n\nThank you for your amazing support…..it makes it all worthwhile!!  Happy days – guaranteed or your money back!    Mel.\n\n\nORIGINAL POST: \nThe plan will be to run 2 sgrs as a ‘one-off special event’ so we can look back and remember this year for more than the virus!  We will start from the Castle in two separate groups\, both going to Mudeford Quay.
