Some good news at last! The CUK directive that “You can meet and exercise with ‘1 person’ who is not a member of your household, provided that you maintain social distancing of at least 2 metres” will be updated today, and effective from Monday June 1st. to reflect the new ‘6 people’ rule! So…. from next week I intend to arrange ‘small group rides’ of 6 members (referenced ‘sgr’) twice weekly on Wednesdays and Fridays from the Castle at 10am. unless otherwise advised. There are a number of ‘life-support’ businesses open and distancing-equipped, and the leader of each sgr will have to check them out before going – I can do this for them if asked. Please remember that the ‘6 riders’ includes the leader and a volunteer ‘backup’ on the day, so the first 5 members to book a ride will go! There will be no additional riders and no ‘guest riders’ – only 6 go! All the usual ride etiquette and safety rules continue to apply and radios provided.
I need volunteer leaders for Wednesdays 10,17 & 24 – and Fridays 5, 12, 19 & 26. For obvious reasons I need to fill the earlier dates very quickly! To maintain service to members, I would ask you to pre-book your ride place by e-mail to me please, I will confirm and fill each date on a first-come-first-served basis! It would be helpful if you give me an alternative date in case the one chosen is full!
So, for next Wednesday, booking is now open…so, ready…steady……GO!
Happy Days, Mel.
