Hello Wheelers!
The idea of a ride to PedalCycles Cafe in Ferndown this week, apart from the ride itself, is to visit this Cycle Shop/Cafe, the owner of which (Neetan Kathuria) is interested in opening another branch here in Highcliffe! As we don’t have a bike shop or Velo-style cafe, this would be a considerable benefit to us, so I thought you might like to have a look? The fact that they have a fabulous array of cakes, and the best flapjacks I’ve ever tasted, has nothing to do with it!
Anyway, it’s a long-ish ride at 28 miles and not straight forward. As far as the airport, is a well known route and ‘do-able’ by all of us, but it gets considerably more difficult from there with a few problems en-route ! The 3+ miles from the airport are a mixture of terrains, a couple of A-road crossings requiring extreme care, some very narrow passages and a set of steep steps where bikes have to be carried! Apart from that it’s a ‘doddle! I would suggest that this is not for road bikes (hybrid is fine), electric bikes, ‘guest’ riders’ or a large group (split or otherwise).
I will lead up to the airport, where riders can choose to stop at Cribby’s or the Garden Centres, or continue with me!
This is definitely weather dependent.
Happy days!
Mel.
