Assumption of Risk: “Cycling on public roads involves inherent risks, including but not limited to accidents, injuries, and equipment failure. By participating in club rides, you acknowledge these risks and agree to participate entirely at your own risk”.
Individual Responsibility: “Members are responsible for their own safety and well being at all times. It is your personal responsibility to ensure you are physically and mentally fit to take part, and that your bicycle is in a safe, roadworthy condition”.
Role of Ride Leaders: “Ride Leaders serve only as guides for direction. Each individual rider must decide for themselves whether any movement or action is safe and must take full responsibility for their own reactions to road hazards, traffic, and weather”.
Compliance with Laws: “All participants must follow the Highway Code (or relevant local traffic laws) at all times. Road awareness and the safety of yourself and other road users must be your primary concern”.
Waiver of Liability: “The Club, its committee, and volunteer ride leaders shall not be held liable for any loss, damage, injury, or expense suffered during or after club activities, including those resulting from negligence”.
