Cowes for lunch?
Well, OK, maybe not a whole one?!
We are hatching a plan for a day trip over to the Isle of Wight in June and would like to gauge interest before making any ferry and lunch bookings. There are now 13 confirmed riders and 3 probable/likely/tentatives.
Here’s the plan:
- Date: Wednesday 5th June
- Cycle from Highcliffe Castle to Lymington Ferry c.11 miles (you can meet us at the Ferry if you prefer)
- Ferry: 10:00 Lymington – Yarmouth
- Cycle from Yarmouth to Cowes c.14 miles
- Pub lunch
- Cycle Cowes – Yarmouth c.14 miles
- Ferry: 17:05 Yarmouth- Lymington
- Cycle back to Highcliffe, should be back about 19:00. c.11 miles
- The last time we did a day trip over we managed to get on the earlier ferry back, but no promises this time
- Total mileage from Highcliffe Castle and back c.50
- Terrain: all road
- Refreshments are available on the ferry both ways
- Depart from Highcliffe 08:30am for the 10:00am ferry
- Cost: Ferry c. £17 each return, plus your lunch. The lunch stop is still being researched, but if you have any suggestions, please let Gill know
- We need you to have paid this into the club account as soon as possible, absolute latest 3rd May so Gill can purchase the tickets and secure bike spaces
- For those who have not yet confirmed, please note if payment is not made by 3rd May, we will assume you will not be coming
