CHRISTINE WILL LEAD THE RIDE TO THE SHACK, MUSCLIFF

Our intrepid explorer, aka Captain Morgan had this to report on 18.02.20:

IFord Lane is closed to traffic at the railway bridge, but bikes can get through (may have to be “pedestrians”). We have to use this road as the path through the fields is flooded.The track from the A35 alongside the river, to Tesco, is impassable due to flooding.

The road at the bridge over the A338 is flooded.  I would suggest that the ride uses the pavement on the right of Castle Lane East, goes up past Tesco and the hospital, under the A35 at the roundabout, then continues on the pavement on Castle Lane East, turning right on to Ibbertson Road, and then straight on to Throop Road which will take riders to Muscliff.(I only rode it to the start of Throop Road, so don’t know condition of route from there on, but I stopped a car coming down Throop Road and the driver told me there were a few big puddles but I would be able to traverse them without difficulty.)

Of course the floods may have receded by Friday…. KEEP EVERYTHING CROSSED WHEELERS!!!
